Special concert a huge success!

Nelson Children's Center residents present Joel Engle a "thank you" poster they designed. The center was the beneficiary of funds raised during a special concert featuring Engle.

The Joel Engle benefit concert for the Nelson Children’s Center raised nearly $25,000 dollars on Feb. 8!

Engle is a nationally known Christian singer/songwriter with several hit songs. During the concert, Engle shared with the audience the challenges he faced as a child and how he found help from caring people. Engle said he was moved during a visit to the Nelson Center and impressed with how the program is helping troubled children.

Kudos to Engle and his band, and to Dr. Peter Kahle, a long-time supporter of the Nelson Children’s center, for his efforts in making this event a success! Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provided $5,000 in matching funds.
