Denton, TX - The staff and residents of the Nelson Children's Treatment Center are excited about the difference a growing number of volunteers has made at the center.

Recentlhy, more than 35 volunteers, including seven from Christ the King Lutheran Church in Denton, painted the little boys rooms. The little girls rooms were painted by 20 Baylor University fraternity students who wish to be anonymous. Later that day, a group of eight junior high students from Southmont Baptist Church in Denton reorganized the donation room.

"Kristy and the volunteers are awesome," said Cheryl Rayl, CEO of the center.

This spring, residents of the Nelson Center will receive hands-on experience with gardening from Susan Cornman, a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Coppell. She has volunteered to teach the children the joys of planting flowers and other decorative plants.

Volunteers from the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at the University of North Texas have started an etiquette class for the adolescent girls. They call it "The Secrets of Glamor and Style with Pizazz!"
