build self esteem and confidence with Taekwondo

DENTON, Texas - Residents of the Nelson Children's Center in Denton are learning the ancient Korean sport, Taekwondo.

The equipment and cost of the training is being funded by GE Aviation Materials, Dallas. A group of GE employees registered the children and took measurements for uniforms at a hot dog roast and T-shirt painting event they hosted for the children.

The classes are being taught by certified instructors from Highland Village Taekwondo, located in Lewisville, Texas.

"Taekwondo promotes self esteem and builds confidence," said Jeana Quintana, president and CEO of GE Aviation Materials. "There is no contact between the students."

The structured program will provide the children with certificates of advancement, thus awarding the children for their perseverance.
